Direct Dial: 212.419.1507 Daniel E. Clifton is a seasoned litigator with over 30 years of experience in the field of labor law, employee benefits and workers’ rights. He has litigated numerous cases in federal and state courts, before the NLRB, the EEOC and other administrative agencies. Mr. Clifton provides day-to-day advice to unions and benefit funds on the interpretation of collective bargaining agreements, plan documents, and union constitutions. Mr. Clifton has particular expertise in the laws governing internal union affairs, and has frequently served as an election officer for international and local union elections. Mr. Clifton is well-known in the labor law community. He has taught continuing legal education courses in ABA-sponsored employment law sessions, and given presentations and conducted workshops at events sponsored by the Center for Labor and Employment Law at NYU School of Law, the National Employment Lawyers Association, the AFL-CIO Lawyers Coordinating Committee, the Association for Union Democracy, and Teamsters for a Democratic Union. He has taught Labor Studies as an adjunct instructor at Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations and Rutgers University. He has served on the Labor and Employment Law Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and the Advisory Boards of the NYU Center for Labor and Employment Law and the Association for Union Democracy.
